Disease Reactions
Susceptible to early blight and potato leaf roll virus. Carlingford has excellent resistance to blackleg, common scab and powdery scab but has no PCN resistance.
Plant Spacing
Suggested spacing for potatoes would vary from 25 – 35 cm (10-14 inches). This will vary depending on the age of the seed, growing conditions and the management of the crop.
Yield
Carlingford is capable of producing yields in excess of 70 ton/ha (generally not as high as Nadine) under ideal conditions and crop management.
Cooking Characteristics
Carlingford is particularly good for boiling and using in salads as it maintains its shape and doesn't darken after cooking. It also mashes,roasts and microwaves very well.
